About the Program

The SFVS Internship Program is designed to provide broad postgraduate training in small animal dog and cat practice. The large caseload and high level of specialty support create a great learning environment for those interested in residency training or small animal practice. Interns are required to rotate through the following clerkships: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Emergency/Critical Care Medicine and Holistic Medicine. Rotations/clerkships are four weeks in length. Experience gained through clinical rotations is supplemented by a series of required intern seminars presented by staff and residents, and case presentations.
