American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Foundation

The ACVIM Foundation is a non-profit organization created in 2000 to support and advance the work of specialists in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine: small and large animal internists, cardiologists, neurologists and oncologists.

Founded in 1973, the ACVIM sets international standards for veterinary internal medicine — overseeing board certification in the various fields of veterinary internal medicine, and advancing research and education. The ACVIM Foundation was created to give veterinarians, pet owners, philanthropists and corporations a way to support the scientific and educational endeavors of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. SFVS is a Practice Charter Member of the Foundation.

UC Davis Center for Companion Animal Health

The Center for Companion Animal Health (CCAH) at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine is dedicated to improving the health of small companion animals by encouraging and supporting academic studies into diseases affecting dogs, cats and small alternative pets.

Pets Are Wonderful Support

Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) is a volunteer-based organization that provides for the comprehensive needs of companion animals for low-income persons with HIV/AIDS and other disabling illnesses, as well as senior citizens. By providing these essential support services, educating the larger community on the benefits of the human-animal bond, and advocating for the rights of disabled individuals to keep service animals, PAWS improves the health and well-being of disabled individuals and the animals in their lives.

The San Francisco SPCA

Founded in 1868, The San Francisco SPCA is a national leader in saving lives and raising the status of companion animals. Its innovative programs and services include: Maddie's Pet Adoption Center; community veterinary services, including the SF/SPCA Animal Hospital and Spay/Neuter Clinic; hearing dog program; humane education; public dog training classes; feral cat assistance program; and animal assisted therapy.

Muttville is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the lives of senior dogs. On a local level, Muttville rescues senior dogs and finds them foster homes or gives them hospice.
